Verification

Four checks stand between a claim of ownership and a live listing. None of them are decorative.

PRO registration

Sellers provide their performing rights organisation and membership number. We confirm the works being listed are registered to that member. Societies covered include ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SOCAN, PRS, GEMA, SACEM and APRA AMCOS.

Distributor / ISRC ownership

For master rights, we check the ISRC and the distributor of record to confirm the seller controls the specific recording, not merely a version of the song.

Split confirmations

The seller names every co-writer and producer with a share. Each receives a private link, sees the share attributed to them, and confirms it along with consent to the listing. Shares must total 100% and every holder must confirm before the listing can go live. Confirmations are timestamped and attached to the listing's audit trail.

Sample clearance attestation

Sellers attest that any samples, interpolations or replays in the work are cleared, and may upload supporting documentation. The attestation is a statement by the seller, recorded and shown on the listing — it is not a legal opinion by Coda Exchange.

Manual review

Every listing passes an admin review before going live. Reviewers can request more evidence, override a verification with a written note, or reject a listing. Notes are retained on the listing record.
